30% of women become pregnant before the age of 20 according to the national campaign.org and 90% of welfare recipients are single mothers. My story begins with relating to these statistics. At 18 after graduating high school number 6 in my class, I found myself turning 19 and bringing a child into a world I knew nothing about. I have worked as a Pharmacy Technician for over 18 yrs, Basic Skills Trainer for 2 yrs, and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor-Intern for 3 yrs; while pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Human Services with a concentration in addiction.
I founded Madea House in 2017, a Sober Living Home for recovering drug and alcohol addicts. My long term goal is to open a Community Correctional Center "Halfway House". Thank you for all your support!
